sudden twist of events
oh crap.
i was just called by our school paper coordinator to tell me the
supposedly good news:
i'm now officially part of the school paper.yippee.i'm trying to say that as enthusiastically as i could, but i simply can't. i must have already felt the pressure that came along with it, especially my mom was editor-in-chief of her school paper when she was in high school.
and she told the coordinator about it.and because i was forced to apply in the first place, now i'm forced to write. darn, i hate pressure! i want free-writing, people! no grammar checks nor spelling checks! argh...that's what i hate about writing non-fiction. news, features, everything about school papers, except the literary part (well, that's what i applied for anyway). i think i'm more of the imaginative and creative writer, not the structural one.
i've always felt that i can't be the best in anything, that there's always better than me, even in my most believed talent. that's why i think there are still some other people who are
far more deserving and hardworking than i am. and adding my other obligations as a graduating student, i'm definitely doomed.
but i'm still glad in a way. even though i can't thoroughly convince myself that i
can do this, my family is there to give me courage.
naks. my mother even offered to be a substitute if i can't handle things anymore. even i never thought of that. my dad told me that at least i've proven something
to myself. my sister told me that if the publication is only twice a year, it's not too much hassle. and finally, i convinced myself that i'm good enough to be a writer in other's eyes.
ang lalim 'no? but in conclusion, (read my previous post) i'm still very anxious. this one's just adding up.

i feel anxious
...in a good way...i think.
this is the day, folks. everything's better than ever. just wish no one screws it up this time (points to herself).
then again, i don't expect too much after this.
ang labo 'no?p.s. just stole the idea of this post from my
imood.
medyo malakas 'tong pakiramdam na 'to eh.

can i hear 'amen'?
finally! after more than a week of anxious mail checking, trying to convince myself to hope, not to expect, and crazily begging, it is confirmed!
read carefully: i'm going to bellevue again this wednesday!!! whoo!!!really, thank God for that! i've been feeling not-so-good these days, though it's not really noticeable; i am still the quirky, bubbly and silly being but it didn't exactly make me feel deeply happy (hahaha.
serious ba daw?). and so, another blessing has come upon us. yay!
actually, i find it hard to express everything i'm feeling right now; heck, i even find it hard just to make a damn sensible post! damn you, frat boys!
hahaha. i like that catchphrase.all i know is i'll be a content/satisfied/overly blissful human being again in three days...yeah, just waiting for that to sink in a little more. heh.
again, can i hear 'amen'?

maybe you should go back to school.
that's what pyro said to iceman when they're fighting already. i thought it was cool, pyro being rebellious, being impatient (like i was earlier) and having the i-hate-the-world kind of attitude. it suited
aaron stanford in a way. hehehe. enough of that.
...going back to that post's title, i was looking at
dlsu,
admu and
ust websites to look for
future courses i might get into in less than a year. yes folks, i'll be graduating next year, 2007. anyway, while doing so, i came across
a lot (and i mean a lot) of courses just in business management alone. i already had convinced myself that i wouldn't get into medicine for some reasons that i find rational: (1) i'm an inborn lazy creature; (2) i hate memorizations, period; and the most important, (3) who would want a very clumsy/careless/impatient doctor to cure them?! and so, that leaves me to think about being a business-minded person.
upon seeing my possible subjects in that course, i'm now convincing myself that i can face math subjects everyday.
kahit yun na lang. besides, if i end up in de la salle university in taft (the most possible of the three), i'll be able to challenge myself more. ewan ko ba, yun ang feeling ko. and i promised to myself that if ever i'll get lazy (like i always do), at least this time i'll try to overcome that lifelong habit of mine.
you should have never left. - iceman

[insert bad mood here]
"If you lose hope, somehow you lose the vitality that keeps life moving, you lose that courage to be, that quality that helps you go on in spite of it all. And so today I still have a dream."- Martin Luther King, Jr.,
The Trumpet of Consciencehmmm...wala lang. i just feel like someone/something is trying to make me stop dreaming, hoping and believing. hmp. if you're asking who/what, i can't answer you.
hindi ko rin alam eh. if you're asking why, i don't exactly know about that either. maybe it really goes like this: if you want something very badly, every force in this planet would try and stop you. i don't think it's "destiny" saying it's not good for you; it's saying that it
could be good for you, depends on you handle that certain desire. it simply means
anything can happen, and it's up to you if you'll decide to continue, or just to give up.
wala nang kwenta sinasabi ko no? wag mo nang ituloy, kasi mas confusing next part nito. hahahahahhhhh.
things keep turning up and trying to bring me down, or at least that's what my twisted mind is telling me. i'm very weird to begin with; i always think that my mind is another person, whom i can talk to, argue with, and especially, share my secrets with. best friends ata kami! hahahaha...
there are things that always hinder the celebration of my happiest moments; maybe that's the reason why God gave me a gift of optimism. to still make the most out of everything, kahit
you and me against the world na ang drama ko. haha. God is really good, no?
well, it's a really good thing to know that. because i won't give up. never.

just some random thoughts
note: one must anticipate that this will be a really long post. believe me.
the da vinci code movieeveryone's talking about and the most watched movie in the world (even here in the philippines). the issue doesn't actually rely on it reaching the top of every box office there is in the world, but on it making the catholic church (here in the country at least) worry too much.
i don't get it. even mtrcb rated it a very unreasonable r-18. do they think that filipinos, their own race, are that gullible and stupid? i mean, it's fiction. whatever the rating had been, it would have still had an impact to everyone, and it still could depend on the person who'd watch it. how did that make other people worry too much? i'm a catholic, and i don't mind whatever dan brown had written.
eh yun ang gusto niya eh.memo to self: never go to sm megamall again. ever.since my mom had a "meeting" with her batchmates in med school in mandaluyong yesterday, we had no choice but to go malling near that area. we (my dad, my sister and i) went to shangrila plaza first and ate lunch at
fish & co., and then we headed to
national bookstore to buy school supplies... after some three hours (and mind you, i was already tired walking), my mom came along and she decided that we'd go to megamall to buy the rest of the things we needed (including ate tin's bookshelf).
oh boy, the place was filled with children! and not just those cute-and-cuddly ones, if you know what i mean. anyway, after three more gruesome hours of walking, i just couldn't go on anymore. no one could talk to me because i wouldn't answer. we ate dinner at 7pm, then
finally went home. thank God it'll never happen again soon.
my dad forgot to call my school to check the id picture taking schedule.well, actually i had forgotten to remind him. it was supposed to be last week but my most anticipated gig must've occupied my whole mind, including my entire being. hahaha. good thing april told me that it just started earlier, and they have schedules until wednesday.
tartar sauce! i feel too lazy to go there.
nine days to go!and i'll see my favorite band again. it's not really, really sure-sure though, i don't have any company yet. but i'm in the process of convincing one. and besides, i feel that i
need to go somehow. school will start soon. aww, total bummer.
there's nothing like seeing your old friends again.yup, that'll happen on saturday, and they're my elementary friends. some of them i haven't seen in four years, some in five months, and some in just a week. hehe. but it excites me more to find out what they're up to, 'cause i'm sure i won't be able to tell them anything... except that i'm not what they think i am anymore (heck, my grades have declined since i reached high school), that i'm an overly obsessed and crazy fan, and that i still don't have a love life. hahaha. they must prepare for me!
a hard day's night!oh yeah! like i mentioned (typed?) earlier, we bought some school stuff yesterday, and guess what? i have a beatles-themed binder
and a beatles-themed filler case! oh yeah! sorry, i couldn't resist on buying them both. hahaha. and they look the same! hahaha. i think it's called
vintage (that's what it says on its label)...
ah basta! i'm really, really proud of it! take a good look:

yeah! sorry, the picture's quite dark; i wish i had taken it in the afternoon. now my school year's going to be rockin'! at least that's what i'm hoping. :p
tartar sauce!i saw him again. (i'm not telling when... haha) wala lang, he's supposed to be buried along with my other bad memories, but he keeps on resurfacing again and again.
ayoko na nga s'yang makita eh! darn it. i guess he was surprised when he saw me too, talking to a friend. wala lang... wala lang...
stainless longganisa
i'm currently reading bob ong's new book (the title above). i really like the way he writes. i don't know. but so far, i find his new book a tad more fascinating than the previous ones (or do i? tagal ko na kasing 'di nababasa 'yung iba, hehe)...
siguro dahil mas nakaka-relate ako this time. and i don't just laugh at his remarks, i fully nod to his statements. maybe because this time it's all about how it feels to be a writer.
x-men 3: the last standmas inaantay ko pa 'to kaysa sa the da vinci code. hehehe. call me weird for that, it's okay. i'm yearning to see what happens and
what side i will choose (stole that line from the taglines). being impartial, i'll choose magneto, since pyro is on his side already. hahaha. but how about wolverine? ahh, what the heck. i guess i'll have to wait two more days or so to find that out.
single again...paul mccartney (or macca, as fans like to call him) and heather mills separate after four years of marriage. i hesitated to comment on this since i don't have much knowledge on the issue, let alone their marriage. but i guess being a beatles fan made me want to do this. anyway, all i know is that heather's going to have more money if they decide to divorce.
wawa naman si paul. a quarter of his fortune could be gone that fast. maybe that was his fault. then again, what do i know?
may album na sila?!?three months ago, a friend of mine told me about a band named callalily. taga-uste daw sila (i'm not sure). the reasons why she did that were because: (1) they were a bunch of good-looking,
very young kids; and (2) my sister studies at ust. i haven't heard of their music yet, but i know they had a demo cd or something. so that shouldn't surprise me that they had recorded their new album already, right? wrong. the fact that my favorite band (not comparing them or anything) doesn't have one yet makes me a little frustrated. i don't blame them though, i blame all those recording companies. on the meantime, i'll be enjoying the live music they're playing. (side note: 3rd week na for
band on the run, and i can't watch it. darn.)
okay, tutulog na ako. hehehe.

do you, do you, do you wanna dance?
and then there are moments when you can say that, "hey, life's not that tough."
it was really awesome watching my favorite live act again.
hindi pala talaga sila nakakasawa. even if you've heard a particular song ten times already, it's still as fresh as it can get. maybe it's the energy...or maybe the good feeling you get when you hear that style. hmm, ewan ko.
i had butterflies in my stomach when our car stopped by the entrance of
the bellevue.
i also felt ridiculously tense when we reached the 20th floor of the building. buti na lang, i am one of those people who are very hard to read. kaya siguro hindi nahalata ng ate ko. hehehe.
i thought the place was kind of small. my sister decided to settle on a not-so-distant place, a table away from the stage, though we were the first ones to arrive (
sabi niya eh). she said she might get deaf again, like the last time when we were sitting in front, beside the gigantic speakers. but i had fun, even if my right ear couldn't hear much after that. haha. anyway, since we hadn't eaten after the movie, we ordered our dinner there. their prices were a bit high though. guess it's because we're in a hotel. *shrug*
then, the tuesday band (i forgot what their name was) began playing at 8pm. i don't know what exactly was their genre, but i'm pretty sure they covered a lot of the popular songs from the past decades. and we found ourselves singing while eating while joking around.
(are there members of the band reading this? 'cause i'll be embarrassed if they do. hahaha.)
at 830, my sister had excused herself to the restroom when i caught the sight of rocky, the drummer. i then thought they had arrived a bit early, or the more reasonable,
just in time. when she came back, she told me that she had passed by the band. she also told me to go to the restroom too, so that i could catch a near glimpse of them. i kind of declined at first, but i decided
what the heck? i needed to go anyways. as i walked down the hall, i saw them walking towards the bathroom too. yeah, too bad that the only thing i could do was follow them. hahaha.
after that i came back and sat down. and suddenly i became really, really tense (thanks also to the aircon right above us)...i was somewhat shivering. a few more moments and i saw rocky and louie--the bassist (i think he smiled at me! well, i don't know; there was no one behind me) pass by our table and sit on the furthermost seating at our left. lakan, the keyboardist, soon followed them. however, the brothers (pepe and jay jay--both on guitars) stopped by on one of the tables.
commercial: i find this funny, telling all the details, and yet, the show hadn't even started. :P
after some time, pepe passed by too, and--
this i'm very sure--he was smiling at me. of course he's best known for his killer smile. my sister didn't notice it though. and i haven't told her. haha. he sat down with them, and everyone was preparing, blah blah...we'll skip this one out.
i'm going to take forever if i put more details in everything...so, better write about the highlights:
* they played some of my favorite beatles songs which i hadn't known they do:
tell me why,
you can't do that, and
you really got a hold on me. i got a hunch that they can play
tell me why, but it's not 100%.
* i was suprised to learn that jay jay can play the harmonica. they sang
love me do there.
* when someone requested for
yesterday, my sister and i were amused that only jay jay was singing and playing the song, whereas everybody else just stood there, resting and drinking water.
* i
absolutely loved it when they switched places for
hound dog: rocky on guitars, jay jay on drums, lakan on bass and louie on the keyboards (pepe was still on guitars). louie even went around the keyboards on the instrumental part. that was funny.
* as usual, they had the most energy exerted i have ever seen.
* and because of that energy, louie and jay jay's guitar straps fell off separately.
* rocky's drum solo was longer than before, i think.
* we got on our feet on the last song only, though. i wanted to dance, kaya lang nakakahiya.
* there were three mics, and yet they only used two.
* they tried their best to make up for a request they couldn't play.
* the show was full of their witty comments and hilarious acts. it was fun just by watching them have fun.
i guess that was it. i have more, but i'll just keep it to myself. hehe.
oops. didn't mean to get this long...i guess i had too much fun. what more if my best friend had come along? :)

...one heck of a day/night/whatever...
*sigh* i don't even know how to begin.
okay...here goes.
i woke up pretty early this morning (8 o' clock), hoping that finally, my problem would be over. anxious, i started to check my things, look in the mirror, and do any other thing that's useless. then after an hour, i went down and ate some breakfast, which didn't really make me full or something. i was waiting for a particular message from a friend during that whole time, and because i was
too anxious, i fell asleep on the living room couch.
i woke up (again) at nearing 12 noon, and my sister and my mom had already gone to a bazaar being held at the world trade center. my dad came home from the hospital, and asked me if my friend had replied or said anything in response. i said she hadn't, so my dad tried to call her up, but there was no answer. he then decided to come to her house and ask her in person.
being the very hopeful person that i am, i figured she would finally agree. upon arriving there, i was disappointed to find out that she really couldn't do anything about it. we left feeling very frustrated, and that's when i started to not talk anymore. i don't know, i just felt very bad. that went on for an hour, i guess, and then my mom called up saying that we needed to go to alabang already to meet up with them.
commercial: my guess is that you've figured out what my problem was. :P
i dressed up, feeling a lot better (my dad was throwing jokes and life's lessons all at the same time). we went off, and arrived at
alabang town center at 4:30. i had no choice but to watch the gig with my sister, well,
medyo sawa na ata s'ya sa mga kalokohan ko. hehehe. anyway, they had planned to watch a movie, and i told her over the phone that i
need to go with them, since my friend hadn't come along.
we watched
mission impossible: iii as expected, and surprisingly, i found it quite good. i've never been a
tom cruise fan, but i must admit, i liked him after watching that movie. and it gave me the chills, the
oohs and the
aahs as a result of too much amazement from all the plans and gadgets i witnessed.
i found it very strange that the "main thing" of the movie was the rabbit's foot. wasn't that a test result of mine? hahaha.
the movie ended at almost 7pm, if i'm not mistaken, and my mom suggested that we should eat on the bar where the gig would be held, so as to not waste too much time. we agreed.
hmmm, i want to put my yet another bloomfields experience on my next post (because this would get waaaaay too long).
ta-ta!

three on three
for a change, i'll go back to my
other hobby: watching lots of tv. hehehe.
amazing race 9
i found this season a bit more exciting than the previous ones... i don't know, it's quite enjoyable i guess. and maybe because
joseph and monica didn't get into the finals. no offense guys, i just happen to root for their rivals: bj and tyler.
bj and tyler: aka
the hippies. they're my bet because i commonly root for those who don't tend to insult and berate each other after one or more mistakes (e.g.
kris and jon,
brandon and nicole,
the linz family). they take the race seriously yet cheerfully at the same time. and besides, i love funny guys. :P
eric and jeremy: aka
the frat boys. funny as it may seem, they're the team whom i loved, loathed, liked, and one time or another, rooted for to win the race. they're like
colin and christie,
rob and amber,
freddy and kendra of the race. they're not the most likable, but hey, you gotta admit, they can win this thing. (did you notice i compared them to the boy-girl pairs? it's purely coincidental, but i found it kinda funny.)
ray and yolanda: hmm... and then there are those whom i feel okay about. i don't care if they win or not, though i like it when yolanda's in a good mood. she's funny.
in conclusion, this is a pretty good finale. there's no one i hate to win or hate to lose. i considered
eric and jeremy the bad guys before, but since they had realized the power of karma earlier, they've been good boys. hehe.
american idol 5
a pretty good season, i must say. everyone's got something, but too bad all the other greats have been eliminated already. but this is the best top 3 in all five seasons for me.
katharine mcphee: almost everyone's rooting for. if you ask me, i expect her to win but i'm rooting for an all-boys finale. i don't have anything against her; in fact, i've always wished i had a voice like hers... but if she don't show what she's really capable of (for future records), then she's leaving the finale on the two gentlemen.
elliot yamin: ooh that voice. i've never heard anyone sing that smoothly, well, since he came along. i even remember simon saying, "he's the best male vocal that has ever been on the show," or something like that. does that mean he's better than clay aiken and ruben studdard? just a thought. anyway, i believe he can win, only if he chooses good songs.
taylor hicks: hmmm, since this is a subjective post, i'm going to say that he's the most likely to win this thing. he's never been on the bottom three (like
carrie underwood and
kelly clarkson), and many people like him. i admit, i do too. heck, he's the most hyperactive person i've ever seen on that stage. surprisingly, he sings well most of the time, any song for that matter. i'm not sure if what i'm saying is
actually right though. i didn't tune in that much until they got rid of
ace young there. no offense, again. so...yeah, and i want a guy to win this time! enough of the divas.
but then again, anyone can win. it's fine by me. besides, i can ask God though who will win, but He can't tell me for some reason. hmm.

oh the havoc!
i thought that sounded so cool, so forgive me for my quirkiness/weirdness. haha.
WARNING: if you can't take my obsessions anymore, don't read it; it's full of them. obsessions are my life anyway.
last night was the most panicking, disappointing yet still too amusing night of my entire existence.
i went to my cousin's house (he's kinda my 'fraternal twin'; we're eight months apart) because they have myx and we don't. yeah...life sucks, sometimes. anyway,
"they" would appear on myx at 10 in the evening, and 30 minutes before the show, my tita, my cousin and i tried to set up the vcr, when we realized the tv doesn't have the 'out' outlet (is that right?). she suggested that we should try the one upstairs. we did, but unluckily for us, the tv had the same outlets. then on to my lola's tv, with my dad already helping out. guess what? still nothing happened.
five minutes left, i was suddenly switched on to panic-mode. my cousin and i kinda gave up and finally thought of resorting to a dvd camcorder and my cellphone. tita (she's determined) tried another way for the vcr to work, as soon as she pressed the 'on' button of the tv, it was already starting. i felt a bit guilty though, because she was constantly repeating my whole name (
"hay nako, jessamine beatriz...") in desperation...well, they became my angels in disguise after that anyway. she also pressed the 'record' button afterwards. i recorded one on my phone and after maybe, 3 minutes later my cousin had the dvd camcorder with him.
i have to say,
band on the run is a good exposure for them, even if they don't get to play songs, unless it's background music. it's also good to see the
more wacky side of them at least, even if that was full of commercials and advertisements (
"to download...just type blah blah..."). hehe.
after the 10-minute recording, the tape on the vcr recorded nothing, and the video on my phone and on the camcorder was good, only that some parts...okay, not some...but most of the parts were filled with our voices.
actually, and naturally for me, i felt very silly of myself after that. i guess that is one of the side effects of being such. and hey, can i help it if i will do anything by any means just to get what i want?
too bad there are more or less 10 more episodes of that. oh well, as my cousin said,
"at least nakuha mo 'yung pilot." yeah, right.

speaking of obsessions...
hah! today's been a great day...
at last, after almost two months of waiting, the bloomfields have finally (being redundant...) debuted on radio! whooo!!! *calming down* thanks to
magic 89.9's local vocal, that is. heheh...
honestly, they're really good doing live performances. i really do wish they could release an album soon... i'd definitely buy it!
by the way (hopefully the last one), joycie and i will watch them at the bellevue in alabang in the 16th... that's 8 days from now, technically. *getting excited again*
i know, it's 1 in the morning, and this post has no sense whatsoever. maybe it's the after-effect of their "appearance"; you know, you still feel hungover. see? nonsense.

i'm back! finally!
yes, after almost a month of not posting in my beloved blog, here i am. i should have no excuses since it's summer here, but unfortunately, i do:
(1) the usual: i'm feeling lazy.
(2) another usual past-time that makes me busy: obsessing over house, the beatles or the bloomfields. pick one that suits your taste.
(3) i'm doing sports, which is kind of a miracle, really.
(4) who could forget: email, friendster, ym, etc.
anyway, my post title should be:
my oh-so normal obsessions...yeah, that should be it. i guess being obsessed with a movie, a tv show, a celebrity, even a band is a very normal habit of mine. i became a fan of this and that. once, after begging my parents for it to be a christmas present, i went to abs-cbn and watched star circle quest just because there was someone there that i really liked! true, i got a few pictures of some celebrities there, but i regretted coming there for some reason i can't say. i don't know, maybe because i felt something stupid then.
anyway, i'm still the same person that becomes obsessed when i really, really like something or someone or whatever, but i think i'm more critical now. i like when things are different, extra-ordinary, something i could be proud of. you know, i can tell someone, "hey, check out what i'm into!"
yeah, kinda deep for obsessions huh.
