another martial law?!


the date was february 24, 2006. as i arrived home, my mom was playing spider solitaire again, and my dad greeted me with a hug. what i usually do after that is to look into the television screen; doing so, i saw the news about the madame president declaring state of emergency after stopping another coup attempt.

haha, it's funny 'cause my teacher in english is already influencing the way i write. it's too formal isn't it? but, no kidding, the story above is true. i can't believe she's doing this; it may lead people into thinking that it's the start of the terrifying martial law part 2. what the heck is that?! i know i wasn't even existing when the marcos' regime ruled the whole country and its inhabitants (and i mean ruled), and when the filipinos awoke from the nightmare and stopped the nightmare itself, but i do know how it happened, and how the people felt during those times. and who wants it to happen again? nobody, i'm sure. don't the filipinos endure so much already? it's affecting everything: politics, military, and maybe soon the economy.

i'm just afraid like everybody else is. all i want to think is the president should know better: don't abuse the power. just because you're not a president in a few years' time, you have the right to handle everything.
