dance machines and mall shows

earlier today, my good friend katherine and i just went to sm batangas to watch a mall show of this band called wickermoss. we arrived at the mall (my first time there, and her second time) and felt kind of lost for a moment. then i said, "tignan kaya natin 'yung Entertainment Area, baka dun sila magpe-perform." she agreed, so we checked it out. we saw an empty stage with children playing on top of it. yeah, we thought that there was no show...and since it was sunday, we also thought that we were a day late. doubting our consciences, we looked at those stands with announcements on them --you usually see them in mall entrances, i don't know what the heck people call them-- and we saw boy2 quizon's poster (yeah that guy with cool hair hehehe) with an small-sized yellow paper saying, "with wickermoss, march 26 at 5pm" or something like that.

anyway, we had to leave that thought because we still got four hours until the show, and so like normal teenagers do we went to the nearest arcade center (yes, we were thinking of that first before thinking of what to eat). there we saw katherine's usual leisure time, which used to be mine also years back: dance dance revolution. we noticed that the machine wasn't getting any rest period like the kids who played did; one after the other tokens were being inserted continuously. i mean, we can't even try a single game (well, maybe we lacked the guts too, but there's another reason for that)...

and then there was this guy whom i think looks a bit like sam concepcion (yeah, the young gary v. from little big star) and he came up to the machine. and since i have psychic powers, i figured he's one of those guys who are good at this kind of games. you know, i've seen a couple of these species at different places; it's like they have nothing better to do than play, dance, play and dance. and what do you know? i was right, and he was better than i thought. he chose the three hardest songs ever on ddr (the paranoia series) and set it on the hardest level ever (maniac)...anyway, katherine and i were hesitating already, and this one blew our chance to play. it's the first and last time we ever saw him play.

going back to the mall show (i know it's getting long), we were arguing if we'll buy their album or not in order to sit in that secluded place, because honestly (and no offense), i really don't have time exploring music especially when it's new. we tried to watch at the second floor, but i finally gave in and bought the cd (katherine promised she'd pay the half when we see each other again). we entered at 4:30 and sat there up until 5:30 and the announcements were the same during that hour. i mean, goodness, they're half an hour late and they're still torturing us by letting us here the same thing every five minutes? come on.

we left for awhile and came back and finally the show started. hmmm, after the hours we'd spent waiting, there it was, an hour show with no autograph signing (except for boy2 but please, he's energetic and warm and all, but i don't like reggae music, no offense there again).

all in all, it was a great bonding time for my friend and i...and i wish next time we watch a gig or show, it'd be better. oh by the way, she's my friend that is most sure of coming with me if ever we'd watch the bloomfields. yey for us!
