the anticipated event
NOTE: part two (pa lang!) of the story. i don't know the length of this one though. bahala na. :Pokay, where was i? oh yeah, that guy! haha.
he left, and then we looked at each other with the same thought in our minds.
akala namin kung ano na 'yun. joycie even thought that it's a practical joke or something. buti na lang hindi talaga. at naku! sana alam n'ya kung gaano namin s'ya inaalala after n'un.
hindi na namin s'ya makalimutan! hahaha.
it was only five in the afternoon when we started to walk again. there, we realized how hard it was going to a mall with no plans whatsoever. we practically went around each wing twice. but good thing we discovered a place where you could leave kids there for them to have fun. it's a good place daw for her sister
kachina (makulit daw kasi). we went to a few shops just to kill time; by 6pm (thank goodness we reached that time), my dad called me up, asking me about the time we'd eat and the place. i simply answered kfc na lang at 7pm. it's because i don't each much when i'm tense. yes, i was tense that day; i always am when i watch them. haha. actually, i was the same when i watched the backstreet boys; i only ate chicken burger that night. hahaha.
and since we were tired of walking, we decided to sit on the town plaza again (
i know what it's called na! *beams*) and watch them people doing aerobics. we were very amused by the way. hehehe. and what do you know?! that guy appeared again, but we just noticed him. then, a woman asked us to guard their things, only for five minutes though. and what do you know?! (part 2) an hour passed by too quickly!
damn that exercise we did! ala pa lang kwenta. hahaha.
at seven, we went to kfc, met up with my dad and ordered our food already. joycie and i were silent most of the time (busy sa pagkain eh. hehe). that's when i thought to myself, "hey, two hours left and my two loves will meet!" hahaha. how silly could i get?! that's my ultimate wish, to be honest.
cheesy na kung cheesy, ako yun eh.surprsingly, we finished in twenty minutes. i also thought by then that there could be a possibility she wouldn't like the kind of music
the bloomfields play. i've always known she's the normal teenager who likes mainstream music, not the oldies stuff, especially
the beatles,
beach boys,
elvis presley, let alone
the 50's or
the 60's. but she agreed beforehand (i warned her), and i still tried; there's no harm ni trying, right? :P
giddy excited, we all jumped in the car (not literally, of course!) and headed to the bellevue. since joycie was wearing a mini-skirt, i told her that it's going to be cold in there (i had mentioned that weeks ago). her answer: "i can manage." hehehe. as my friend and i arrived there at approximately half past seven, as usual, i felt dizzy in the elevator. it's like a plane in there; it was so fast! hehe. anywaysss, we entered the bar, only to find out that the bar was
uber full. i tell ya, it was only 730pm, and the place was already swarming with different kinds of people. i remember telling joyce, "this is the place where the young and the not-so-young-anymore meet."
as expected by yours truly, we also saw a band preparing when we arrived; and finally, i got a hold of the wednesday band's name:
silver. they played what i guessed was common among cover bands: s'yempre covers! no, just kidding. they played the songs that were familiar to the audience (whether the oldies or just a few years ago).
after that, there were some guys preparing the things for the next band (
duh! :P), and nearing 9pm, the band arrived at last; i was actually a little confused that they were later than the last time they'd perform there.
but heck, they were there anyways so it's all good. hahaha.
my fear of her not loving (even liking) the band kind of grew on me. but good thing her first impression of them while they were preparing was good: she'd said she had yet to judge them.
by the way, the first one she liked was louie, which was predictable in my opinion. :Pand then, they introduced themselves and (
FINALLY) started playing. my twisted mind somehow forgot to tell joycie about their
energy on stage. ewan ko ba kung anong pumasok sa kokote ko at nalimutan kong sabihin sa kanya 'yun, kung hindi lang sila nagsimulang magpaka-hyper dun. hehehe. and the funny thing about it was that their energy's the one that sets them apart from most bands, besides the music of course.
highlights (
na lang...tinatamad na akong magkwento kung wala namang masyadong ikukwento):
* we were seated across from where my sister and i were the last time, on the front table of course (right side). however, we didn't want to sit apart, so we sat behind the table. that still counts as the front, whatever you're thinking.
* since there were three chairs left on our table, a family of three shared the table with us.
* it's the first time that i could
finally see clearly
jay jay and
lakan's positions from where i was sitting. the two times before, i had always ended up sitting where i could see
louie and
pepe (even
rocky) standing most of the time.
* it was the first time i heard their
birthday song, though i knew they've been playing that for a long long time already.
* finally, i heard their version of
blue suede shoes, sang by
rocky. i really liked it, by the way.
ah blue, blue, blue suede shoes...* thank God, they played
california girls,
surfin' safari,
all my loving,
she loves you (
yeah yeah yeah!),
surfer girl and
the little old lady from pasadena again. it's the second time since i've watched them, and i was dying to hear those songs live.
* i was
constantly asking joycie if she was having fun, seeing as she couldn't even recognize the songs (unlike myself, shame on me), except for
wouldn't it be nice (thanks to
50 first dates) and
stand by me.
* i really liked their version of
the way i feel inside and
i'm down. good thing they played them.
* here we go again, with rocky's drum solo. it's getting wilder everytime! (he was hitting the tables and other stuff)
* since i was in front and didn't want to show any negativity, i was singing along and smiling almost the entire show. hahaha.
* my uncontrollable illness went on again; i couldn't stop myself from video capturing their performances! God, i had also had done that in
tagaytay highlands (yes, that's why
rocky noticed us then). i knew some of them must've noticed it too. don't worry, i won't sell them. :P
* i thought that the set this time was whooshing fast, even if it lasted more than an hour and a half.
* lastly, the one joycie liked the most was
pepe. i also kind of expected that. ;)
yun lang.
but you know that i'm keeping some things other than those cited above. :D
still up for part 3! :D
