love or friendship?

I've been watching Nino's 2003 drama "Stand Up!!" for weeks now (I'm saving it so that I have something to watch when I'm bored, if ever that happens XD), and I have to say, despite the drama having a mature theme, as in not-for-kids type of maturity, I quite like where the story's going.

I stopped watching at Episode 9, so for those who want to watch it (and haven't), DON'T READ FROM HEREON. Same goes for those who are already finished watching it. DON'T SPOIL ME. >:(

Shou-chan's (I thought of going with Shouhei, but then it's Nino's character so I have to be a little affectionate to him. ~~Me and my twistedness.~~ XD) dilemma was kind of intriguing to me, although it's a very common thing to happen.

If you were to choose, would you choose friendship or love?

The thing is, Kenken (Yamashita Tomohisa's character; YES HE'S THERE TOO) told everyone that he liked Chie (Suzuki Anne's character, their childhood friend) and was willing to go out with her, despite knowing that she had feelings for Shou-chan. But then, Chie also finally confessed to Shou-chan with the help of his sister's encouragement.

Shou-chan was "vaguely" aware of her feelings even before, but he just kept ignoring it, especially when he learnt about her and Kenken. As far as I know, Shouhei was the nicest among their circle (even if he's ALSO perverted XD), so naturally he'd rather let them be together than consider his feelings for Chie. And I'd expected it from his character.

But then, his other friends, Kou-kun (played by Oguri Shun; YES.) and Udagawa (Narimiya Hiroki; YES AGAIN. XD) had told Shou-chan earlier about his feelings for Chie was that of only a friend, rather than something more than that. So I guess that also convinced him to ignore his own feelings and let her go out with Kenken instead.

I've always said that friends shouldn't fight over girlfriends or boyfriends or whatever, but when a situation is as complicated as this one, especially that they were ALL (emphasis please) friends, what should you do?

Honestly, at times like that, I probably would tell Chie how I really felt although Kenken would get hurt, if I were Shou-chan. It's not about being selfish, I think it's just a matter of being honest to everyone, because the biggest enemy here is regret. At least he could say that he did his part. And it's being even more selfish to not say anything about your own feelings. (I learned that from Yamada Tarou Monogatari. XD)

If I were Kenken though, I'd probably do nothing for the meantime. Besides, Kenken already said that he'd wait whatever it took, even if she didn't like him the same way he did. And as Shou-chan said before (I love that he's the narrator of the show :DDD), "Even if you've done everything, there are other things you cannot control." As much as I don't want to believe in that, it's the bitter truth, isn't it? At least he's shown that he can be serious to someone.

I honestly wouldn't know what to do if I were Chie though. Maybe I'd wait too, since she also had done her part (in confessing). Meh, I guess I have to watch the continuation later. XD

I'm hoping I didn't sound biased just because it's Nino's character. But then again, I don't think I'm the only one who felt that way, right? :p

Random note ~~for the day~~: ~~I can't believe I've taken Nino's drama seriously. But it could happen, right?~~ I'll continue watching the two Pikanchi movies for the sake of Arashi, even though I was a little surprised of what they're doing in that movie. XDDD

P.S. I'll post something else later this evening. It's the product of my 'write-anything-just-anything-as-long-as-it's-something' urges. XD
